ElectRICK Enlightenment

a new school curriculum

Sociology, psychology and philosophy should be integrated kindergarten through high school curriculums. If we’re learning about history, where we come from and learning from our past, then we should equally be learning about who and where we are at the moment, along with understanding others in the moment. Especially since all we are learning is objectivity, and now that objectivity can instantly be found at the click or touch of a button, the need of the ability to think, question and connect is really the greatest evolving point we have to work on now. You can google the answer to a math equation or who started world war two but you cant google your thoughts and others.

There’s a limited amount of cognitive space in our brains, why would we fill that with information that is always available on the internet, which has INFINITE space? As we get better at recalling trivia, we get weaker identifying our own feelings and interpreting the feelings’ of others. How could we even begin to solve an issue if we don’t even know that one exists?

What is the point of teaching history so we don’t keep repeating our mistakes as a civilzation if we keep repeating our mistakes century after century. Last time I checked, our world is having the same problems. We should learn from our mistakes and start teaching how to understand ourselves and others because that is the root of why wars are started.
